Analisa Marquez (above left) is a perfect example of how the WPSL team has helped to refine her game for the Boston Breakers in the WPS. Analisa, a Tucson youth player, played two seasons with the team and it was evident that the environment in which she played in the summer had a direct effect on her success both at the college and now the professional level. In Analisa's own words, "whether you are a young player preparing for college, or a current college player, it is always beneficial to play for the highest level of competitive soccer team during the summer off season, and there is no better place to get that competiton than on the AZ Rush WPSL team. The only way to get better is to train with the best, and the AZ Rush team has some of the best players from all around the country. It was through my experiences on the Rush team that I was able to be seen in a different position, and ultimately led to most, if not all, of my success in my collegiate years. Thanks to the AZ Rush WPSL, I have developed and sharpened my soccer skills, and it definitely led to my success during my final two college years at the University of Arizona."
Our youth club players are challenged in this arena to play up to the level of the league. This is great for young players who can in turn go back and share what they have learned from playing with older, more experienced players. Now entering it's third year, the Arizona Rush organization is seen as a blue print model for success by the WPSL league both on and off the field. Tucson one day is envisioned as being he home of a women's professional team based on the support of the community and the solid base which the AZ Rush WPSL organization has built upon.
